This Is Not A Wax Museum

Every artifact here is real. The letters were written from prison cells. The objects were owned by the killers themselves.

Serial Killers: The Experience is an educational true-crime museum owned and operated by Phil Chalmers — a 41-year veteran profiler who has personally interviewed hundreds of violent offenders, including 250 serial killers. Jeffrey Dahmer's apartment silverware. A clown mask from inside John Wayne Gacy's home. BTK's art set from his prison cell. Dahmer's booking-photo eyeglasses.

The museum separates fact from fiction, honors the victims, and teaches the warning signs — all guided by the man who spent four decades face-to-face with the worst among us. Phil is here most days to answer your questions.

Phil Chalmers

He's spent his life doing the job almost no one else can stomach — sitting across the table from killers to understand why they do what they do.

A true-crime author and host of the Dennis Quaid–backed podcast Where the Bodies Are Buried, Phil has appeared on A&E's Killer Kids and Fox's Crime Watch Daily. His interview roster includes Charles Manson, Son of Sam, BTK, the Hillside Strangler and the Gainesville Ripper. Now he brings that firsthand knowledge to Myrtle Beach — most days, in person.
